What can you actually do with a nutrition qualification? Can you set up your own practice?

MNU’s Government-Regulated Awarding Body-Accredited Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Nutrition Science qualifies graduates to practise as fully qualified Nutrition Consultants, Certified Nutritionists or Nutrition Coaches. Graduates can work with clients in-person or online globally. Regulated by Ofqual, the Diploma gives MNU Certified Nutritionists the credentials (MN.Nutr) and insurance access needed to set up and run their own nutrition consultancy or coaching business legally and professionally.

The MNU qualification is based around knowledge and practical skill acquisition, as well as business competencies. It does not only teach the theory of nutrition, but also how to apply this knowledge in practice, working with a wide variety of clients, from general population to athletes.

MNU’s bespoke insurance policy covers graduates to provide nutrition consultancy, assess clients’ food and nutrient intake, address their health and fitness goals and subsequently design personalised nutrition interventions, including the use of meal plans, and where necessary, recommending safe, natural supplements.

In many countries, lack of regulation means anyone can practise freely as a nutritionist. This is where being part of MNU and using the title MNU Certified Nutritionist will set graduates apart; as a collective trademark, only our graduates can use the title.
