Do I need a specific nutrition qualification to be insured to give dietary advice?
Not all nutrition qualifications will make a graduate eligible for insurance for practice. However, the Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Nutrition Science with MNU allows graduates to practise as fully qualified Nutrition Consultants, Certified Nutritionists or Nutrition Coaches and hold the highest level of professional indemnity insurance to do so, using the bespoke policies available in 40+ countries.
MNU’s bespoke insurance policy covers graduates to implement a full range of nutrition interventions including recommending evidence-based supplements, behaviour change strategies, meal plans & nutrition strategies to improve health, sports performance, and fat loss & muscle gain.
MNU is a Government Regulated qualification which is mapped against the Regulated Qualifications Framework and is recognised internationally as a Level 5 Diploma. Upon successful completion of the Level 5 Diploma, graduates will also be able to use the post-nominals MN.Nutr after their name in combination with the protected, trademarked title of MNU Certified Nutritionist.
In many countries, a lack of regulation means anyone can practise freely as a nutritionist. However, the MNU Certified Nutritionist title is a collective trademark, meaning only MNU graduates can use it, making their credentials immediately distinguishable in an unregulated market.
