What will the Clinical Nutrition module allow me to do?

Within the Clinical Nutrition module, you will learn the nutritional science and practical skills required to support clients with specialist conditions, as well as learning about the signs & symptoms that would require a referral to a specialist medical professional.

As with most non-specialists, the goal is not to ‘treat disease’ but to support individuals within an appropriate scope of practice; with the ethos of ‘first do no harm’.

Many issues such as poor blood glucose control, high blood pressure or cholesterol can be improved through appropriate dietary interventions. Likewise, where indicated, evidence-based improvements in body composition can improve the prognosis of many disease states; which is where MNU Certified Nutritionists are better placed than other nutrition professionals.

Those who want to work in hospital settings, for instance, treating disease & or supporting critically ill patients, should pursue Dietetic programmes.
